Beaches
- Sunset Beach — iconic; huge winter waves for surf-watching, gentler in summer.
- Ehukai Beach / Banzai Pipeline — world-famous surf break; spectacular in winter (watch, don’t swim).
- Waimea Bay — swimming and (calm-day) cliff jumping in summer; massive waves in winter.
- Laniakea (“Turtle Beach”) — reliable spot to see green sea turtles basking.
- Shark’s Cove — top snorkeling/tide pools in summer; rocky, calm-day only.
- Ke Iki Beach — pretty, quieter stretch; strong shore break, better for walking than swimming.
- Kawela Bay — calm, protected cove right by Turtle Bay; great for swimming, snorkeling, and often green sea turtles. Easy walk.
- Turtle Bay / Kuilima Cove — sheltered swimming beach steps from the resort; family-friendly.
Hikes
- Kahuku / Turtle Bay coastal trails — easy flat walking/biking paths right around your area, ocean views.
- ʻEhukai Pillbox (Sunset Pillbox) — short but steep; rewarding ridge views over the North Shore. ~1.5 mi round trip.
- Kaunala Trail — forested loop near Pupukea, moderate, ~5 mi.
- Waimea Valley — easy paved walk through botanical gardens to a swimmable waterfall (entry fee).
- Kaʻena Point — protected natural reserve with albatross colony, monk seals, rocky shoreline
